Tim Miller Plumbing Ltd has been operating since 1986, and has a dedicated team, many of whom have been with the company for over 10 years. We are passionate about what we do. Please see our profiles below.

DirectorTim Miller

Tim is the Director and founder of Tim Miller Plumbing Ltd. He began as an apprentice at a large plumbing firm (A & T Burt Ltd) in Christchurch. His apprenticeship was based solely on commercial work. Mainly Christchurch public hospital redevelopment and Burwood Spinal Unit.

Tim was transferred to Nelson to work in 1980, still working for the same company, working on diesel fire burners and education board work. The last plumbing job he did was the Nelson Hospital Laundry.

In 1986 he began as a sole trader, and the business grew until he turned the business into a limited liability company in 1996.

Tim is a very experienced plumber, and now uses his skills and experience to oversee the day to day operations of the business and is involved in quoting larger work.

The proudest moment of Tim's career was the completing the plumbing for the Nelson Public Hospital redevelopment, which we believe was the largest plumbing job undertaken in Nelson at one time.

Tim is a certifying /craftsman plumber and a certifying /craftsman gasfitter.

Contracts ManagerMerv Ward

Merv has been working at Tim Miller Plumbing for over 10 years. He completed his apprenticeship in Timaru in a small light commercial firm, Des Mulcahey Plumbing. He then had 5 years in Europe gaining valuable plumbing experience.

Merv is a registered plumber, drainlayer, has an STMS (traffic management) and a National Certificate in Water Reticulation.

Merv has experience in project managing commercial projects including New World Westport, Countdown Stoke, Saxtons Soccer Pavilion and a major project in New Plymouth for Ryman Healthcare.

Plumbing ManagerCarl Stanley

Carl has been at Tim Miller Plumbing for over 20 years and is now managing Day's Plumbing in Richmond. After completing his apprenticeship in Christchurch with a large commercial company, G.G. Don Ltd, he gained overseas experience, living in Melbourne for several years.

Carl returned to New Zealand and settled in Nelson with his two daughters. He now has a young son and enjoys family holidays at his bach in the Marlborough Sounds.

Carl has extensive experience in the plumbing industry, he has project managed several large contracts, including apartments on the waterfront and was the foreman for the Nelson Hospital Redevelopment and project manager for the Wairau Hospital Redevelopment.

Carl is a certified Domestic Sprinkler Designer, and is an EECA certified solar water heating installer.

Home Heating SpecialistStu McKenzie

Stu McKenzie is a craftsman plumber who has been working for Tim for about 14 years. He has been a plumber all of his life, initially doing an apprenticeship in Christchurch.

Stu is very skilled at all types of plumbing and currently is doing some work on the tools as well as organising the staff.

Stu has been running the Emsol contract, is involved heavily in training the apprentices and looking after staff members.

Health & Safety Rep & PersonnelAnne Miller

Anne, who is married to Tim, has worked in the business since she retired from nursing after the arrival of the family.

Anne is the mainstay of the firm, and this shows through her willingness to take on any role in the firm. She is like a mother to all of the young lads.

Anne's role is the Health & Safety Rep & Personnel.

Office ManagerBrian Harford

Brian joined our team in October 2012. He has a Survey background, and spent 15 years as an Office Manager at John West Surveys.

Brian has a wealth of knowledge, and assists us with CAD drawings and all things IT related.

Angela joined our team in October 2013. She is responsible for all data input.
